About

Having Studied painting in LSAD I went on to work with Bedrock Productions & director Jimmy Fay, designing sets in the City Arts Centre & The Project, Dublin.

From there I went to study at the world-renowned Motley Theatre Design Course, London, grant aided by the Irish Arts Council.

During the 30 months that followed my return to Ireland, I designed over 20 productions for theatre, dance, opera and film, such as:  At- Swim-2-Birds, The Abbey, 1998, Fragile, Dublin Fringe Festival 1999 and Coriolanus, Project @ the Mint, some of which were nominated for awards of distinction.

In 2000 due a life-threatening illness I returned to West Cork. Subsequently, my creative path significantly altered, I published & launched a children’s book which I co-illustrated & co-wrote, I exhibited paintings, illustrations, 3d work and continued to design for the stage e.g. Alice Trilogy, The Abbey, 2007, writer/director Tom Murphy.

Most recently I received my masters in: Art & Process, @ CIT Crawford College of Art & design Cork. This has led to lecturing part-time in the UCC Drama dept. and co-facilitating drama & visual art workshops for The Lantern Community Project, Cork.

My work from the MA: AP exhibition 2018 has been long-listed for the RDS Visual Arts Award, 2019.

Currently I am exhibiting in a number of group-shows at the Blue House Gallery and West Cork Creates.
